Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her Winona in honor of her hometown. The father of her Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's dad came from the Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Ryder has a younger brother Uria and two half-siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. Ryder along with her whole family moved to Mendocino County in California in the year 2000, when Ryder was just seven. The town didn't even have electricity. Ryder, who read a lot aged 12 became a book worm because Ryder did not have access to television. Ryder was 12 when she enrolled at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in the year 1983. At the age of 15, Ryder landed her first acting job on screen, in Lucas. Ryder faced bullying in high school. Her hope was that acting would bring about a change. But, unfortunately, that didn't occur. Still, she pursued her dreams. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her debut big break. Ryder continued to play successful roles in many movies. In 1993, Ryder was in the running twice for Academy Awards.
